Journal Love

I am developing a real passion for collecting journals! Picked up these little numbers in Fitzroy last weekend. It’s nice to shop in ‘real life’ sometimes. That’s all, felt they were too nice not to share. Happy days.

Calligraphy practice

So, I love lettering right. Slowly I am finding my way around and learning a vast array of techniques to my skill set.

I find calligraphy intriguing, so as soon as I saw this workshop at an Art Gallery not too far from home, I was right onto it!

It covered ‘italic’ calligraphy and really gave me an insight into this letterform. I do hope to learn a modern take on calligraphy in the near future!

I really enjoyed this session and nope, not as easy as it looks!

Lilac Avenue

Welcome back! Today I am sharing a card I made especially for a challenge over at the Shabby Tea Room I have loved this blog for a long time however always admired from afar. I couldn’t resist playing along this week because I don’t think I have EVER used mauve on a card!! That’s what challenges are about, right?! I have distressed some G45 flowers and combined them with some Kaiser paper and a touch of liquid pearls to put this one together. I have added some lace along the bottom as per challenge rules too.
